WACO, Texas — Ascension Providence has expressed its gratitude for the community rallying behind doctors, nurses and support staff on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hospital has received all forms of encouragement, from letters to children to donations of meals for staff, along with many other acts of kindness.
Ascension Providence has decided to highlight stories and programs that offer encouragement and inspire hope during this unprecedented time every week.
Below are a few examples of the great encouragement the hospital has received so far.

"Children of all ages have sent Ascension Providence messages and pictures of encouragement. As health care professionals work long hours and deal with the stresses of a pandemic, children and other members of the community have been sending inspirational words and thanking the staff at Ascension Providence for their service," Public Relations Specialist Kathy Hadlock said. "More than 30 works of children's art have been placed in hallways and corridors inside Ascension Providence helping to inspire and support healthcare workers."

"Ascension Providence is grateful to the 20 Waco-area restaurants, food and beverage companies along with individuals that have either made a direct donation of meals/products or provided a significant discount for food to our hospital staff," Hadlock said. "We continue to receive requests for ways individuals and organizations in our local communities can support our healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we appreciate the outpouring of generosity."

Heroes at Work
Ascension Providence has installed "Heroes at Work" "We Love Team Providence" "Praying for Waco" signs to show support for staff each time they arrive at work.
Ascension Providence also launched the caregiver message board where community members can submit a note of gratitude to hospital staff They are also sharing gratitude messages on social media.
"We invite the public to share a message of thanks, inspiration or encouragement with our clinical associates and providers during these challenging times," Hadlock said.
