Waco ISD providing free summer meals to children

Waco ISD's Seamless Summer Feeding Program will run from May 28 to August 8.

WACO, Texas — Waco Independent School District will provide free meals to children this summer through its Seamless Summer (SSO) Feeding Program.

According to the district, the program provides free meals to all children ages 1-18, regardless of where they live or go to school, from May 28 to August 8.

Waco ISD says no paperwork is required, and all children can show up to any of the numerous sites at schools, community locations or mobile sites, to receive a free breakfast or lunch.

The district says most sites are open Monday-Friday from May 28 to August 8, with sites being closed on June 19 for Juneteenth and July 4 for Independence Day.

A child must be present to receive the meals, but all sites will reportedly be open to all children.

Locations include 16 Waco ISD schools like University High School, Cesar Chaves Middle School and numerous Elementary schools, five local churches and community centers and multiple locations for community mobile food trucks.

A complete list of locations, times and dates can be found at this link. A downloadable version of the flyer and an interactive map can also be found at wacoisd.org.
