Exclusive Fitness and Nutrition Tips for the New Year

6 News sits down with expert from Chupacabra Fitness

TEMPLE, Texas — 6 News met with Chupacabra's Brandi Miller a week into 2024 to get some advice for those trying to get healthy in the new year. 6 News was able to ask the nutritionist and head master trainer about healthy eating and simple exercises viewers can do at home.

"The two best foods you can choose from are lean meats and the produce section. Staying on the perimeter of any grocery store is really going to help you stay away from processed foods. So think of lean meats, vegetables, produce and fruits," said Miller when asked about healthy eating.

Miller was quick to point out squats and pushups as notable and recommendable exercises for this year.

"The best two exercises that can be changed and manipulated through all different body styles and athletic abilities would be squats and pushups. You can go from low range of motion to high range of motion. Pushups can go from pike to plank. And just change all the variables. But anyone can do a variation of a pushup and a squat," stated Miller.
