BELTON, Texas — The Belton Police Department provided an update on the six puppies that were rescued from a trash bin at Heritage Park back on Feb. 12.
According to police, the puppies are all doing well in foster care. Most of the puppies have found their forever homes, a few are even going home with some of the staff at Belton PD.
The Belton Police Department gave the following update of Facebook:
"Our furry friends are full of energy and independent. The pups are developing personalities too: rowdy and playful, mellow and quiet, and a couple who love being the center of attention. The vet believes the puppies are a mixed breeds and will likely be 60 to 80 pounds when full grown. A few are going home with our staff and will remain part of the BPD family."
According to police, the puppies were rescued on Monday, Feb. 12 after officers received a call about what sounded like a litter of kittens in a trash can at Heritage Park.
When officers arrived, they quickly discovered that the noise was not kittens, but numerous puppies. Police say seven of the puppies who were rescued were able to survive after being cleaned, dried, warmed and fed.
