DALLAS — Imagine waiting hours in line to get your bags checked in, an additional hour going through TSA, you're finally able to get on the plane only to be greeted with weird sounds of random shrieks and moans from your plane's PA system.
Well, this was the scene for passengers aboard an American Airlines flight earlier this month, according to film producer and actor Emerson Collins.
Collins posted a TikTok of the whole ordeal as other passengers and himself reacted to the strange sounds that could be heard throughout the cabin. The flight going from Los Angeles to Dallas on Sept. 6 has garnered over 1.2 M views.
In the video, you can hear a flight attendant reassuring Collins that it could possibly be a prank.
According to other users, this has happened on their flights as well. Twitter user and journalist Doug Boehner mentioned Collins in a tweet and said that he shared the same experience on his flight last week.
Another user said he also experienced it on his flight to DFW.
For now, an American Airlines spokesperson, according to the New York Post, says the sounds are from a mechanical issue with the PA amplifier. Have you ever experienced anything like this on your flight? What are your theories.
