CASA Cares: The Gin at Nolan Creek gives back

The Gin at Nolan Creek, which is veteran owned, has teamed up with CASA of Bell and Coryell Counties for a backpack and lunch box drive.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — Give back by giving a backpack or lunchbox to the Gin at Nolan Creek in Belton, starting today.

The eatery has teamed up with CASA of Bell and Coryell Counties to give back to the foster children at CASA.

When you bring a lunchbox or backpack to the Gin at Nolan Creek, you receive one coupon for a free appetizer and help out a child in the foster care system.

"We want to do what we can to give back to the community," Sarah Trumbull, the co-owner of the Gin at Nolan Creek, said.

Sarah and her husband, Travis Trumbull moved to Central Texas almost a year ago. Together they have worked to make the restaurant a staple of the community by giving back.

More than that, Travis sees this restraint as more than just that. To him it's something that has helped him find purpose.

"It goes back to being part of something bigger than yourself," he said.

When Travis was in the military, he said he felt like he was part of something bigger than himself. That feeling was lost when he retired.

Now he has purpose.

He and his wife give back to the community and are continuing to find support through other members around them.

To help them, keep an eye out for community events the Ginat Nolan Creek will hold in the future.

As for CASA, know that one backpack or lunch box can make a difference when you drop it off at the restaurant.
