TEMPLE, Texas — It's almost time for Temple residents to see their city up on screen!
The season 14 finale of the Texas travel show The Daytripper is set to air on Thursday, May 30, with Temple as a featured location!
In late 2023, The Daytripper held the Viewer's Choice contest, where Texans could vote on which city would earn a featured spot on the show's season 14 finale. Out of 16 towns, including places like San Antonio, Comanche, El Paso, Grand Prairie and more, Temple was selected for the coveted featured spot.
According to Discover Temple, host Chet Garner and the Daytripper crew visited Temple in March 2024 to film for the episode, meeting with the City of Temple's Destination Marketing team to share some of their favorite local highlights.
According to Discover Temple, the Daytripper team visited several popular local spots, such as Treno Pizzeria and Taproom, the Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center, Miller Springs Nature Center, Old Jody's Restaurant and more.
The episode is set to air on PBS in Austin at 8 p.m. on May 30 and 10 a.m. on June 1, said Discover Temple, and will be available on YouTube on June 3.
A watch party is reportedly scheduled on the lawn screen and inside TVs at Treno on May 30, giving residents a chance to watch the episode at one of the locations featured in it. The watch party is free to attend.
