Buzzworthy | Golf simulation lounge opens in Downtown Temple

The Tee Box Golf Lounge relocated from Salado and has two golf simulators, entertaining games, and a full-service bar.

TEMPLE, Texas — For the people who want a break from being outside but still want to enjoy the game of golf,  The Tee Box Golf Lounge is the place to go.

Tee Box had their soft opening Wed, October 2 at 9 N Main St to celebrate their relocation from Salado to Downtown Temple.

The owner Bryan Villalobos told 6 News they're excited to call Temple home and provide Central Texans with unique entertainment.

"The community just as a whole wants something different," Villalobos explained. "They want something exciting, out of the norm. We figured, why not? That's how this kind of came to be."

Villalobos was inspired to be apart of the golf simulation business after feeling anxious and nervous when golfing around experienced golfers on outside courses.

"It's really just applicable to everyone. I knew that there must be some like-minded people like me so that's why this kind of generated this idea."

"I fell in love with the game. I know there's a lot of people that really enjoy golf as a whole."

Inside the lounge is two golf simulations with a third currently being built.

"It projects the entire screen with a high speed projector," Villalobos said. "You get that projector, you hit the ball. [Then] the track man, the projector and the PC communicate with each other and then it shows where the ball lands."

Their simulators offer 200 courses which include locations in Denmark, Sweden and Pebble Beach.

For die hard golfers like Michael Wright, having the opportunity to golf inside while also seeing different parts of the world is something he's looked forward to seeing happen in Temple.

"We have to drive somewhere like Waco or Austin to go do Top Golf or something like that," Wright shared. "But having it here in town is awesome. I'm excited to be here a lot."

The lounge also has music, pool tables, lounge areas, and a full-service bar.

Villalobos said they expect to have a grand opening later on this year and thank the community for all of the support so far.

I'm excited to be part of this community," Villalobos said. "Everyone here is resilient. Let's keep on doing what we can and make the city of Temple great. I can't wait to see you guys here."
