KILLEEN, Texas — One Central Texas town is building a community, brick by brick.
The City of Killeen will host the Killeen Public Library LEGO Day at the Killeen Special Events Center on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024.
Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the City said LEGO Day is free to attend and will provide a chance for guests of all ages and skill levels to show off their creativity with LEGOs of all shapes and sizes.
The City of Killeen said it will provide thousands of LEGOs and plenty of workspace at the event for attendees to create "whatever they can imagine."
According to the City, LEGO Day drew over 1,500 visitors in 2023.
Everyone is invited to attend, from master builders to those who have never touched a LEGO set before. The City said guests will be able to make new friends, socialize, create, get new ideas and have "a brick-load of fun".
“Build something and make a new friend, or just connect with your kid over a shared love of the world’s most popular building toy,” Deanna Frazee, Director of Library Services, said. “Last time, we had at least 1,500 attendees throughout the day, and many stayed and played for hours. It was amazing to see so many people staying for hours just creating and enjoying it.”
