MEXIA, Texas — Tickets are now on sale for the 2nd Annual "Cindy Walker Days" festival in Mexia, Texas on Saturday, July 20.
This year's event will be held at The Cowboy Western Club in town and the lineup includes Gary P. Nunn, Lee Roy Parnell, a Cindy Walker Tribute, Kelly Willis, Theo Lawrence, Erin Enderlin, Katie Shore, Georgia Parker, Billy Mata, a Texas Songwriter U Showcase with Morgan Lee Powers, Natalie Price and John Dempsy, plus bands including Diamondback and Hot Club of Cowtown.
The event is held surrounding the birthday of Country Music Hall of Fame Songwriter Cindy Walker, who lived in Mexia for more than 5 decades and wrote her biggest hits in her home there. The home was purchased by the Cindy Walker Foundation in 2022 and is being restored to become a museum, community arts and music center and a place for songwriter retreats and residency program.
All proceeds from the concert go to benefit the work of the Cindy Walker Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and preserve the legacy of Cindy Walker.
