The 71st Annual Rodeo Killeen opens May 17 with Military Appreciation Night, which is proudly sponsored by Channel 6.
The rodeo runs May 17-19, with the pre-show beginning at 7:30 p.m. each day and the main PRCA rodeo event beginning at 8 p.m.
Adult tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the gate. Children's tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate.
On Military Appreciation Night, active, guard, reserve military personnel and their dependents will get into the PRCA Rodeo free with a valid military ID. The 1st Cavalry Horse Detachment will hold a demonstration at 7:15 p.m. Fort Hood leaders will do opening remarks at 7:50 p.m., and the opening ceremony will happen at 8 p.m.
May 18 is City of Killeen Employee Night. City workers, with valid employee ID cards, will be able to enter free. And, families of city employees may bring four cans of food per person to the rodeo gate, where they can exchange the cans for free tickets.
May 19 will be Educators Night. On that night, faculty and staff members will be able to enter free with valid employee identification. And, families of educators who bring four cans of food per person will be able to exchange the cans for tickets at the rodeo gate.
