Comic Con coming to Cameron Park Zoo

On April 6 and 7, zoo visitors can enjoy food trucks, vendors, keeper chats and more.

WACO, Texas — It's a bird, it's a plane!

Comic Con is soaring into the Cameron Park Zoo this April.

On April 6 and 7, zoo visitors can enjoy food trucks, vendors, keeper chats and more, said the zoo. The event is in partnership with Central Texas Comic Con.

Zoo gates will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday, said the zoo. Last admission tickets will be sold at 4 p.m., with the zoo closing at 5 p.m.

The event is included with daily admission to the zoo or a Cameron Park Zoo Membership.

Whether you're Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine or otherwise, guests are invited to show up in costume, though the zoo has a few guidelines for cosplay at the event.

  • No cosplay weapons are allowed
  • The zoo asks that guests keep all cosplay "PG and family-friendly"
  • No wheeled recreational vehicles are allowed
  • No balloons are allowed

The zoo says the rules are for the safety of guests and animals.

More information on the event can be found at this link.
