LORENA, Texas — A new Bojangles location is set to be opened in Lorena.
Announced in late February, the chain's plans to open its location haven't been given a definitive timeline, but Lorena City Manager Kevin Neal informed 6 News the location will be at the Roadster Travel Center, but those traveling through the area on I-35 may have noticed a sign that has already been put up.
However, changes will have to be made to the floor plan of the future location, and will require additional construction, inspection and approval from the city.
Neal also said he estimates the new location to bring about 35 jobs to both the travel center and Bojangles.
"We are very excited to have the opportunity to host Bojangles in Lorena," he said.
Bojangles also announced two other Texas locations in Seguin, located outside the San Antonio area, and in Tyler.
“By incorporating non-traditional growth to our expansion strategy, we can introduce Bojangles to much larger audiences and take advantage of the high volume of foot traffic. These new locations will be no different, and we couldn’t be more excited to make our beloved chicken, biscuits and tea available to those making a stop at the travel centers,” said Jim Cannon, chief development officer of Bojangles in the February announcement. “Texas remains a priority for our team, so it was important to partner with an experienced franchisee that has a deep understanding of the region. Foodster Fusion has proven to be a strong operator and clearly shares our commitment to bringing Bojangles to the great people of this state.”
