TEMPLE, Texas — Sydney Dishon is a multi-skilled journalist at KCEN-TV in Temple, Texas. She joined the Channel 6 Team in January 2023 and is eager to learn about the community and share compelling stories.
Dishon graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in December 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. She also received a Sports Broadcasting Certificate from UNT along with a minor in Marketing. Dishon interned at KEYE/CBS Austin in the summer of 2022.
During her time at North Texas, Dishon held several on-air positions at UNT’s student-run news station, North Texas Television which was named Signature Station of the Year in 2021 by BEA. She started as a weather and segment anchor, eventually moving to desk anchor on the noon and evening broadcasts where she covered the Texas State Fair and the 2022 mid-term elections. She is a proud Kappa Delta alumna who served 1 year as VP of Public Relations.
Dishon is a native Texan who was born and raised in the Houston area. When not reporting, you can find her spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She loves traveling, being active and discovering new restaurants and boutiques.
