Copperas Cove elects new mayor after special election

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — Copperas Cove elected a new mayor to fill the seat of Frank Seffrood, who died unexpectedly in December.

Bradi Diaz won the race with 61% of votes in the special election.

Diaz also served as the city's mayor in 2004.

On her campaign page, Diaz says she is a lifelong resident of Copperas Cove and graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1987.

Diaz listed non-profit and civic organizations she has been involved with including the City of Copperas Cove’s Board of Adjustments, Planning and Zoning Commission, Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, Copperas Cove Education Foundation and the Metroplex Health Systems Board of Directors.

She wrote that she worked for her family’s property management business since earning a degree in business administration from Tarleton State University. She currently serves as a General Partner and CFO of the business.
