TEMPLE, Texas — Samantha Davis is one of the dozens of customers who have filed charges against Moonlight Pool & Spa, Owner Kevin Lock and Mikeal Rem.
In light of Lock's recent bankruptcy filing in a Waco federal court earlier this month, Davis said she hopes both Lock and Rem "get what they deserve," from the justice system.
"They robbed literally all of us and they were getting away with it," Davis said. "So hopefully something gets done."
Davis believes justice in the form of a prison sentence may be the only punishment they'll receive, as the filing details that Lock owes as many as 275 creditors, including customers, between $1 million and $10 million.
"If we go after him with a lawyer, we’re not going to get anything back because all of the companies that he owes are going to get their money first," Davis said. "So all we can do is press criminal charges and hopefully something comes out of that."
Davis said they paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for their pool through the company, but there are still well over $100,000 worth of repairs and further construction needed at this time.
"My pool is nowhere near finished," Davis said. "They came and dropped off our equipment, then picked it up, then brought it back, but they only brought some of it back."
Davis says their backyard was left a mess, with large piles of trash and equipment it made it "unsafe" for their children and grandkids to even step outside.
"It angers me, where are your morals? Where do you get off ripping people off like that?" Davis said.
Davis says part of her wants to be in on the scheduled meeting between Lock, Moonlight victims and creditors set for May 16 at 10:30 a.m., but remains uncommitted.
Davis has since contracted with Greystone Pools to finish their pool construction and the owner says they are currently working on several pools of Moonlight customers at this time.
The Bell County District Attorney's Office is still requesting documentation from customers and creditors regarding their dealings with Lock, Rem and the company.
