Belton ISD provides free summer meals for all children

The initiative aims to ensure that children aged 1–18 have access to nutritious meals during the summer months.

BELTON, Texas — Belton Independent School District is extending a helping hand to children this summer by offering free breakfast and lunch through the USDA summer meals program.

The initiative aims to ensure that children aged 1–18 have access to nutritious meals during the summer months, regardless of their enrollment status in Belton ISD.

Chris Teager, Director of Nutrition Services for Belton ISD, emphasized the importance of this program in supporting the health and well-being of the community's children.

"We are proud to offer free school meals to all children during the summer months," Teager said. "Providing these nutritious meals helps ensure that kids stay healthy and are prepared to succeed when school starts again in August. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to the year-round well-being of the children in our community."

Meals provided through the program must be consumed on-site at designated school locations.
