HOUSTON — A man is charged with murder after beating a woman believed to be his estranged wife to death at a north Houston motel, according to court documents.
It happened Wednesday night at the Moonlight Inn on Airline Drive near Tidwell Road and the North Freeway.
When officers with the Houston Police Department arrived, they said Strambler was standing on a balcony with blood on his shirt. They found the victim's body inside the room.
According to court documents, Myron Strambler, 36, attacked Alicia Michele Strambler, 34, inside a room at the motel. He beat her with his hands and with an unknown object.
Additional documents detail Strambler's criminal history, including a domestic violence case against the same victim in 2021. She was listed as his wife at the time but they were separated. It's not clear if they were still married.
In 2022, Strambler was accused of violating a protection order and that case was dismissed.
In 2009, Strambler was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in Brazoria County.
A judge denied bond citing his criminal history.
