WACO, Texas — Around 200 potential jurors went to the McLennan County Courthouse Friday to fill out questionnaires for the upcoming trial for former Shawn Oakman, the former standout Baylor football player who was arrested in April 2016 for allegedly raping another student.
The potential jurors answered the questionnaires as part of Judge Ralph Strother's reevaluation of Oakman's request for a change of venue.
Read the full questionnaires given to potential jurors below.
Oakman's lawyer asked the court to consider the change of venue because he said Oakman would likely not receive a fair and impartial trial in McLennan County because of the publicity surrounding the case.
After Strother evaluates a list of questionnaires, a panel of 140 potential jurors will report back to court on Feb. 25.
From the panel, attorneys will pick the 12 jurors who will deliver the verdict.
Strother said the trial should take about a week.
