Police are investigating a burglary that happened Monday at a duplex on Cody Poe Road in Killeen while the home's occupant was at work.

Jasmine Versher said thieves broke into her home around 12:40 p.m. and stole a 55" curved TV, a 32" TV, an Xbox One S, PlayStation, iPad, laptop and shoes -- among other things. She estimates between $3,000-$4,000 worth of her belongings were taken. And, she said the theft has been tough to explain to her children.

"Especially with my kids being so young," Versher said. "That's their thing on the weekends, they get to play their games. They were devastated. And, they wanted to know why somebody would come in and take their stuff."

The suspects appeared to try to steal from Versher's neighbor, too, but they seemed to stop when they noticed the neighbor's surveillance camera filming their every move. Versher hopes even though the footage didn't capture her break-in, it will still be good enough to catch the possible thieves from the images of them seeming to scout her neighbor's home. She said a KPD investigator followed up with her Wednesday about the theft and the footage.
