Two arrested in Bosque County after long-term meth trafficking investigation

Travis Newman and Haily Jeffers were taken into custody on felony drug charges after illegal substances were found at a home in Lakeside Village.

LAKESIDE VILLAGE, Bosque County — Two people have been arrested on drug charges after officials from the Bosque County Sheriff's Office and Somervell County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a home in Lakeside Village on Thursday.

According to the Bosque County Sheriff's Office, the warrant was executed at 107 Private Road 1320. When officials entered the home, they located Travis Newman and Haily Jeffers, who were connected to a "lengthy investigation" into drug trafficking, specifically methamphetamine.

Among the items seized at the home were methamphetamine, illegally possessed prescription drugs, scales, and materials to package and move the illegal substances.

Newman is being charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances (methamphetamine), a first-degree felony, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a Class A misdemeanor. Jeffers is being charged with Possession of Controlled Substances (methamphetamine) in an amount between 4 and 200 grams, a second-degree felony, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a Class A misdemeanor.

"We appreciate Somervell County (Sheriff's Office) Investigators for their continued assistance in ongoing narcotics investigations, as well as assisting in apprehending narcotics traffickers that impact both Bosque and Somervell counties," said Sheriff Hendricks in a post about the arrests.
