McLennan County mourns the loss of visionary leader, Patricia Miller

Her death was confirmed by McLennan County on Sunday, Jan. 28.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — Commissioner Patricia Miller has died, McLennan County Judge Scott M. Felton confirmed on Sunday, Jan. 28.

"On behalf of McLennan County, I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Commissioner Patricia Miller.  Commissioner Miller was a visionary leader in our community.  She brought exceptional wisdom and a hard working spirt to all that she did. She will be deeply missed," Felton said.

Democrat Patricia Chisolm-Miller was sworn in as McLennan County’s Precinct 2 Commissioner Tuesday after beating Republican Donis DL Wilson in November.

Chisolm-Miller received 57 percent of the votes to win the seat.

She was the first woman and the first African American woman elected to the McLennan County Commissioners Court. She represented Precinct 2 for five years. 

According to her McLennan County website, Miller was a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loving aunt. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and listening to music. Her most memorable book was “Jesus and the Disinherited.” by Howard Thurman.  

The cause of her death has not been released at this time.
