BELL COUNTY, Texas — A man has reportedly been found dead in Bell County days after he was reported missing, according to the Bell County Sheriff's Department.
The Sheriff's Department reported that they were searching for 44-year-old Michael Dewain Drake on Jan. 15, 2024. Drake had reportedly last been seen at his home off FM 439 west of Belton the day before.
The department stated on Wednesday, Jan. 17 that Drake had been found dead after investigators searched an area near his home with the help of neighbors.
An autopsy has reportedly been ordered. The Bell County Sheriff's Office said it will continue to investigate the case.
Investigators had previously said they believed Drake could be endangered in addition to weather concerns during his disappearance.
No further information has been given at this time.
