The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 1:15 p.m. CST for southeastern Coryell County and northern Bell County.
As of 12:35 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was reported eight miles north of Nolanville, moving northeast at 55 mph.
Meteorologists warned of the potential for hazardous 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail, which could damage vehicles and homes. To be safe, officials suggested getting inside a sturdy structure and staying away from windows.
Affected locations urged to take precautions included: Killeen, Temple, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Belton, McGregor, Fort Hood, Nolanville, Morgan`s Point Resort, Troy, Mother Neff State Park and Oglesby.
