Fort Hood's 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment took a trip down south to celebrate the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The team now travels each year to the largest rodeo in the world.
The troopers and their horses marched in the downtown Rodeo parade on Saturday. Captain Justice Nance described it as a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, and a good embodiment of Texas.
The soldiers were also checked out concerts by Garth Brooks and Little Big Town over the past two nights.
The Horse Detachment's Sergeant Randy Raper and his wife will be competing in the rodeo itself.
The Houston Rodeo continues until mid-March. Check out the schedule here.
