A woman's body was retrieved from Lake Belton Saturday afternoon by the Belton Fire Department. The woman was transported to Scott & White Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say the emergency call was dispatched to Belton first responders at about 5:55 p.m. after a fisherman discover the body near Belton Dam.
The Belton Police Department is investigating the death.
