The McLennan County Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution to help the City of Mart repair its roads after verbally committing to do so in March.
Last month, Mart residents asked the commissioners for the county's support. They claimed their cries for help had been stalled when Precinct 2 Commissioner Lester Gibson stopped attending meetings. After hearing the concerns, other commissioners said they did not want Mart residents to be punished because of Gibson's absence.
Mart leaders hope to fix four to five miles of streets each year for the next four to five years.
