KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department says it has opened a death investigation after finding human remains in a wooded area on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
According to police, officers were called at about 2:56 p.m. on Tuesday after witnesses told them a dead human body was found in the 1700 block of Copperfield Circle.
The department says the remains are being sent for autopsy at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas to identify the body and determine the cause of death.
There is currently no additional information available at this time.
