One man was taken to the hospital after crashing his car into a tree in Moody Friday morning. The car caught fire soon after impact.
It happened just after 7:30 a.m. on Whitehall Road. According to a Temple Police spokeswoman, the man driving was out of the car by the time they arrived.
The man's stepfather, who identified the driver as Johnny Schweppman, 39, said he works for a pool company in Troy and was on his way to work. Schweppman lost control of his car and ran into the tree, according to the stepfather.
