KILLEEN, Texas — A family in Killeen is looking for a dog it describes as its son's protector.
Harley, a blue merle sheltie has been missing since Friday.
Meagan Jackson, the dog's owner, said he helps with her 8-year-old son, Conner, who is nonverbal as a result of his disability. Jackson said the dog helps the family by supporting Conner and helping comfort him.
"He knows when something is going on," Jackson said. "Whether it's a seizure flare-up, he's in pain or he's just not himself, Harley's always just right there with him. He's always right there by his side, we just want him back to help him."
Harley has been a part of the Jackson family since he was five weeks old, almost five years ago.
