5. Update on Corden Fidler
The Temple boy who was shot by his mother's estranged husband on Dec. 20 is continuing to improve in the recovery process. Fidler's family continues to thank the community for raising money for his medical expenses. The GoFundMe page has currently raised more than $31,000.
Background: A standoff in Temple on Dec. 20 ended with 36-year-old Shelly Splittgerber and 64-year-old Sherry Gray shot and killed, while Splittgerber's 4-year-old son, Corden Fidler, was injured.
