WEATHER AWARE | Flash Flood Watch extended into Friday afternoon

More rain is possible today with ongoing flash flooding, especially east of I-35

TEMPLE, Texas — A Flood Watch was extended for our entire viewing area in Central Texas through Friday at 1 p.m.

Strong thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening, especially for the far western counties. As of Thursday night, flash flooding will be likely for areas east of I-35.

As of 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 24-hour rain totals were as follows:

  • Mexia: 7.4"
  • Groesbeck: 5.7"
  • Freestone: 7.7"
  • Waco: 3.1"
  • Troy: 2.2"

Seven-day rain totals were as follows:

  • Groesbeck: 9.4"
  • Freestone: 10.0"
  • Waco: 5.9"
  • Troy: 7.1"
  • Rogers: 8.0"
  • Temple: 4.1"
